SMSU Athletics

Nate Van Asperen is in his second season as assistant coach with the SMSU staff in 2020 and will coach the team's tight ends.

Van Asperen was a two-year letter winner at SMSU appearing in 22 games with 16 combined starts in 2017 and 2018 at left guard and center. Prior to SMSU, Van Asperen played two seasons at Sacramento City College.

Van Asperen is a 2019 graduate of SMSU with a degree in political science. He is pursuing his master's degree in education with an emphasis in sports leadership.
