Nathan Packard is in his first season as outside linebackers coach at SMSU in 2016.
Packard spent the 2015 season as linebackers coach at Battle High School in Columbia, Mo., where he helped the Spartans to an 11-win season and an appearance in the state Class 5A semifinals.
He spent the 2014 season as an assistant equipment manager at Southern Methodist University.
Packard is a 2013 graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where he was a four-year letterwinner, including serving as team captain in 2013. A Division III All-American linebacker, Packard was a National Football Foundation Collegiate Scholar-Athlete and was a Cliff Harris Award nominee for the best small school defensive player in the country.
