Rob Schlaeger is in his fourth season as an assistant coach in 2015 and will coach the team's outside linebackers. He joined the SMSU staff in December of 2011.

A native of Spencer, Iowa, Schlaeger attended Buena Vista University in the fall of 2011, but an injury cut short his football career. He then joined the coaching ranks, helping coach linebackers and quarterbacks at Windom High School.

Schlaeger is pursuing a degree in sports management.
