Tyrone Saterfield is in his first season as assistant coach with SMSU in 2019 and will coach the defensive line.
Saterfield joins the SMSU staff as spending the previous two seasons as defensive line coach at McDaniel College (Md.). He has also been an assistant coach and teacher at Matanzas, Flagler County and Oak Ridge High Schools in Florida.
Saterfield played defensive tackle at the University of Louisville from 2000-03, where he was a two-year starter and finished his career with 50 tackles. Following his collegiate career he played five seasons in the Indoor Football League with Sioux Falls, Wyoming and Rapid City.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville and is completing his master’s degree from McDaniel College.
