George Kawalawu is in his first season as an assistant coach for the SMSU women's and men's track & field teams in 2015-16.
Kawalawu was a standout at St. Cloud State University, earning All-American honors in 2014 with a sixth place finish in the 60 meter dash at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Kawalawu gained All-NSIC honors and was the NSIC indoor champion in the 60 meter dash in 2014 and also set a new school record in the 60 meter dash. During the 2014 outdoor season, Kawalawu received All-NSIC accolades and was the NSIC runner-up in the 100 meter dash and as part of the 4x100-meter relay team.
Kawalawu is a graduate of SCSU and is pursuing his master's degree from SMSU.
