Carly Fehler

Carly Fehler is in her first season as an assistant track & field coach at SMSU in 2017-18.
 
Fehler comes to SMSU after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She coached nine all-conference women in the sprints, including a conference champion in the 200 and 400 meter dash, 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay. She coached a two-time 100 meter national qualifier and 4x100 meter relay national qualifier. Fehler also coached an All-American in the 400, and the Division III national runner-ups in the 4x400 meter relay, who set a school record of 3:42.60 in 2017. She was a member of the coaching staff of the UWEC men's team that won the national championship in 2016.

Fehler had an outstanding four-year collegiate career at UWEC. She was a six-time NCAA Division III national champion and a seven-time Division III All-American. She won a national title in the 100 meters in 2014, then won national titles in the 60m, 200m, 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay in 2015. She was named "Performer of the Meet" given to the highest scoring athlete at the national meet, in both indoor and outdoor in 2015. UWEC finished fourth at the 2015 indoor national championships and recorded a runner-up finish at the 2015 outdoor national championships. 

A three-time team captain, Fehler was named team MVP in both 2014 and 2015. She was named Female Athlete of the year at UW-Eau Claire, was a NCAA Woman of the Year nominee, as well as the Division III Athlete of the Year in 2015.
 
Fehler earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature with a minor in coaching from UWEC in 2015. She is pursuing her master’s degree in physical education at SMSU.
