Alex Baumann is in his second year as Assistant Athletic Director for Event Operations and Ticketing in 2025-26. He officially started his duties on June 14, 2024.
Baumann leads, plan, direct and assess all game management responsibilities for SMSU home athletic events and high school athletic contests with a focus on game environment, customer service, fan experience and revenue generation. He will direct the athletic ticket process with Mustang Club members and season ticket holders, while managing and organizing athletic facility scheduling and support special events and other department initiatives.
Baumann spent the 2023-24 academic year as a graduate assistant in the SMSU Athletics Department assisting in game management and marketing for SMSU athletic events as well as other special projects throughout the year.
A 2023 graduate of the University of Minnesota Morris with a degree in financial management and sport management, Baumann was an integral part of the game day operations staff during his time at UMM, while also taking the lead on many athletic administrative initiatives. A five-year member of the UMM baseball team, Baumann was named All-UMAC first team and D3baseball.com All-Region third team following his senior season. He also served four years on the Cougar Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
