Devon Johns is in his first year as the Director of Performance/Strength & Conditioning in 2026-27, starting his role on Aug. 3, 2026.

Johns came to SMSU after spending two years at Wayne State College as the assistant strength and conditioning coach.

He has also spent time as a strength and conditioning coach at Concordia-St. Paul and Western Kentucky University.

Johns, who lives in Marshall, earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Western Kentucky and his master’s degree from Concordia-St. Paul.
