SMSU Athletics

Spencer Louwagie is in his fourth season as the head coach of the Esports program at SMSU in 2023-24.
 
Louwagie, who has worked at SMSU as an Information Technology Specialist II since August of 2016, has an extensive background in Esports since 2014.
 
A 2016 graduate of SMSU in computer science, Louwagie helped create SMSU’s first Esports club team in 2014. He served as team captain for SMSU’s League of Legends team and competed in numerous regional tournaments as a student. He was ranked within the top one percent among all League of Legends players in North America.
