MARSHALL, MINN.:
The Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs held a 22-21 halftime lead but the Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons outscored SMSU by 26 points in the the second half for a 61-48 victory on Friday evening in Marshall, Minn.

SMSU falls to 3-5 in conference play and is now 7-9 overall while the Dragons improve to 11-6 overall and 5-3 in the NSIC.

MSU Moorhead came out strong in the second half connecting on 16-27 shots from the field for a second-half shooting percentage of 59.3 percent.  The Dragons were led by Jessica Fesenmaier who had 25 points as she was 10-of-13 shooting. 

With eight minutes remaining in the the game the Dragons continually pulled away from the Mustangs as they went on a 13-0 run to cap a demanding 58-41 lead with 2:29 left to play.

The Mustangs were outrebounded in the game 38-29 and while finishing the game with a 36.4 field goal shooting percentage.  SMSU committed 13 turnovers but forced the Dragons to have 16.

SMSU had one player score in double figures as Heidi Kimmes led the way with 16 points and also grabbed five rebounds.  Kimmes was 7-of-12 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.  Junior Sara Leidall was next in scoring as she chipped in nine points. 

Southwest's Megan Stadler led the team with four assists while Abby Oakland had a team high six boards.

SMSU will host No. 3 Concordia St. Paul tomorrow night at 6 p.m. in the R/A Facility.
