OSCEOLA, FLA.:
The Southwest Minnesota State softball team defeated East Stroudsburg (Pa.) 4-3 at the Rebel Spring Games in Florida on Tuesday.  The win was the second over East Stroudsburg, as SMSU won 7-1 yesterday.  The Mustangs are now 5-3 this spring, after dropping a 3-2 decision to Ashland (Ohio) earlier in the afternoon.

Amanda Tucci hit a bases loaded, two-out single in the bottom of the seventh to send the Mustangs home as winners, breaking a 3-3 tie. 

The Mustangs scored their other three runs in the fifth inning as Katie Turner started out the inning with a walk and was advanced over to second by Meaghan LaetschAndrea Fennern showed her speed gaining a base hit on a bunt advancing the runner to third.  Jessica Paczosa then reached on an error by the second baseman but drove in the first run of the game on the play.  The second run was scored on wild pitch as Fennern advanced home.  The inning was finished off with a RBI single up the middle from senior Erin Dickhausen.

In the bottom of the seventh used three singles from Kiley Petersen, Jessica Paczosa and Kristin Braden to load the bases and Amanda Tucci capitalized hitting the winning run in on a single to left field.

Jessica Paczosa led the offense with three hits and one RBI.  Amanda Johnson pitched 4.1 innings in relief of starter Nicole Kelley.  Johnson did not allow a run, while striking out three to earn the victory.

SMSU finished the game with eight hits while East Stroudsburg had five.

SMSU plays Pfeiffer (N.C.) at 2 p.m. (CDT) on Wednesday in Kissimmee, Fla.
