THIS WEEK: The Southwest Minnesota State University men's basketball team (9-8, 4-7 NSIC) returns to Marshall this weekend beginning a crucial four-game homestand as the team looks to climb back into the upper-half of the NSIC standings. SMSU will take on the University of Minnesota Duluth (7-11, 4-7 NSIC) on Friday, Jan. 29, before facing Bemidji State University (7-10, 4-7 NSIC) on Saturday, Jan. 30. Both games are slated to tip-off at 8 p.m. at the R/A Facility. Saturday's match-up is the annual “Hawaiian Night” game held at SMSU and concludes a week of festivities on the SMSU campus.
SMSU, which will play six of its last nine regular season games at home, begins the weekend in a tie for ninth place in the NSIC standings along with UMD, BSU and Northern State.
