FAYETTE, Iowa- Kelly Fitzgerald's goal early in the second half lifted the Southwest Minnesota State soccer team to a 1-1 tie against Upper Iowa.

SMSU moves to 1-10-3 (0-8-3 NSIC)' Upper Iowa moves to 8-6-2 (4-5-2 NSIC).

Upper Iowa notched the first score of the game on a goal from Liz Kaluzinski after eight minutes of play. SMSU answered back when Fitzgerald's shot found the back of the net on an assist from Tatum Borstad after 52 minutes.

Kendra Olechefske finished the day with a game-high five saves.

SMSU will return home for the final regular season games when they take on Bemidji State Saturday at 12 p.m. and Minnesota Duluth Sunday at 1 p.m.
