MARSHALL, Minn.- Tatum Borstad's penalty kick goal helped Southwest Minnesota State's a 1-1 double overtime tie with Bemidji State this afternoon.
SMSU moves to 1-10-4 (0-8-4 NSIC), while Bemidji notches its first tie of the season moving to 12-3-1 (8-3-1 NSIC).
Both teams were held scoreless in the first half with SMSU taking four shots BSU taking seven.
After sixty minutes of play,
Tatum Borstad connected on a penalty kick scoring the Mustangs only goal of the game. Borstad's penalty kick was the first of the season for the Mustangs.
Bemidji State answered back four minutes later with an unassisted goal by Brianna Scanlan.
Kendra Olchefske finished with a game high 11 saves.
SMSU will be in action tomorrow for its regular season finale when they take on Minnesota Duluth at 1 p.m. at the Regional Event Center.
