Mustangs Head to the Road and Look to Continue Winning Streak

GAME NOTES (PDF)

THIS WEEK: The Southwest Minnesota State University men's basketball team (13-8, 8-7 NSIC), currently on a four-game winning streak, matching its longest this season, will be on the road this weekend for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games in St. Cloud and St. Paul.  SMSU will meet St. Cloud State University (18-4, 12-3 NSIC), currently in second place in the NSIC standings, on Friday, Feb. 12, for an 8 p.m. tip-off at Halenbeck Hall in St. Cloud.  SCSU is also ranked No. 5 in this week's NCAA region rankings.  On Saturday, Feb. 13, SMSU will take on Concordia University (12-10, 9-6 NSIC), currently tied for fifth place in the NSIC, at the Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul with tip-off slated for 8 p.m.  SCSU will enter Friday's game on a five-game winning streak, while CU enters Friday's game versus Minnesota State, Mankato on a four-game winning streak.
SMSU begins the weekend in sole possession of seventh place in the NSIC, while the Mustangs' current four-game winning streak matches its longest all season when the team won its first four games to start the season.  The Mustangs will also be looking to avenge losses to both SCSU and CU in mid-January at home.  It was the first time SMSU had been swept in a home conference weekend since the 2005-06 season.
