MARSHALL, Minn. - Minnesota State, Mankato got a double-double from Laura Weber and 18 points from Liz Trauger as the Mavericks topped Southwest Minnesota State 70-54 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's basketball Saturday night in Marshall.
MSU moves to 14-11 (9-9 NSIC), while SMSU drops to 15-10 (9-9 NSIC).
SMSU, MSU and Winona State are now in a three-way tie for seventh place in the NSIC standings.
The loss put a damper on senior night in the R/A Facility. SMSU honored seniors

Aimee Burmester immediately following the contest.
Weber's double-double came via 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Abby Kenealy paced SMSU with 18 points on 9 of 14 shooting from the field. She was the lone Mustang to score in double figures.
SMSU failed to hit a 3-pointer all night--something that has not happened since the 2007-08 season.
The Mavericks used a 60 percent first-half shooting performance to keep the Mustangs in check early. MSU led for a most of the opening half, but it was a 9-0 run the Mavericks put together to break away from a 20-20 tie that allowed them to take a 10-point advantage into the break.
The surge took flight at the nine-minute mark , and while SMSU managed to get within six points twice in the latter part of the half, MSU returned its lead to double-figures by halftime.
The Mustangs looked poised to make a run at closing the gap early in the second half. SMSU got to within five points twice, but a serious scoring drought from the Mustangs proved to be the knock-out punch. A 19-2 run by the Mavericks that spanned just under 10 minutes put the visitors ahead by 22 points with 3:20 left in the contest. During the surge, MSU connected on four 3-pointers.
Stadler eventually broke a six-minute scoreless streak for the Mustangs and ended the Maverick run when she drained a jumper with 2:54 left to make it 68-48.
The Mavericks put together an impressive outing from the floor, shooting 50.9 percent.
SMSU will host Wayne State on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
