MARSHALL, Minn.- The Southwest Minnesota State soccer team dropped its first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match-up of the season today at Mattke Field to Concordia, St. Paul, 4-1.
SMSU falls to 1-2 (0-1 NSIC), while Concordia, St. Paul moves to 2-2-1 (1-1 NSIC).
Concordia, St. Paul came out strong scoring two goals in the first 20 minutes before SMSU's Courtney McCarthy answered back with a goal at 21 minutes. McCarthy was assisted by Tatum Borstad.
Arielle Stimson recorded a hat-trick for Concordia, St. Paul with her goal in the first half followed by two in the second.
Kendra Olchefske had five saves for SMSU.
The Mustangs will take on St. Cloud State in an NSIC match-up tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Mattke Field at the Regional Event Center.
