On SMSU's next possession, Keanely's jumper gave SMSU the lead back at 55-54. SMSU then forced a turnover on BSU's next possession and the Mustangs made two of four free throws in the final six seconds to seal the victory. It was the second straight victory for SMSU, its first two-game win streak of the season and its third win in its last four games.

Laura Kramer led SMSU with nine points and tied a career-high with 15 rebounds, while also recording four blocked shots. Kramer now has 100 blocked shots in her career, becoming the fifth player in school history to reach the 100-block club. Kenealy finished with a double-double, with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

SMSU started the game strong, jumping out to a 10-2 lead just four minutes into the game behind a pair of 3-pointers by Tori Fink and Kenealy. But following the quick start, the Mustangs struggled shooting for the remainder of the half, scoring just nine points in the final 16 minutes.

BSU rallied to tie the game at 17 with 4:37 left in the half and then gained the lead with 1:06 left in the half to take a 21-19 halftime lead.

The Mustangs shot just 19 percent (7 of 36) from the field in the opening half, including 2 of 11 from 3-point range. The Beavers finished the opening half shooting 29 percent (8 of 28) from the field with a pair of 3-pointers.
