THIS WEEK: The Southwest Minnesota State University men's basketball team opens its 2011-12 home season with a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games at the R/A Facility.  SMSU (2-4, 1-1 NSIC) will battle St. Cloud State University (6-0, 2-0 NSIC) on Friday, Dec. 9, before taking on Concordia University, St. Paul (3-3, 0-2 NSIC) on Saturday, Dec. 10.  Both games start at 8 p.m.  The Mustangs have opened the regular season with six games on the road and last played in Marshall on Nov. 8 with an exhibition game versus St. Olaf College.  SMSU continues its homestand next weekend with games versus Winona State (Dec. 16) and Upper Iowa (Dec. 17).
