OPENING TIP
The Southwest Minnesota State University (11-12, 8-11 NSIC) men's basketball team, currently in tie for eighth place in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference standings, travel to northern Minnesota for a pair of crucial conference games this weekend.
On Friday, Feb. 18, SMSU will face Bemidji State University (8-14, 5-13 NSIC), currently in 13th place in the NSIC, beginning at 8 p.m. at the BSU Gymnasium.
SMSU will conclude the weekend on Saturday, Feb. 19, taking on the University of Minnesota Duluth (9-13, 7-11 NSIC), currently in 10th place in the NSIC, with tip-off slated for 6 p.m. at Romano Gymnasium.
ROEHL MOVING TOWARDS 1,000
Senior forward
Scott Roehl ranks 17th on the school's all-time scoring list with 986 points and needs just 14 points to become the 16th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. The last time SMSU had a 1,000 point scorer was in 2008, when Travis Krenske and Matt Fletcher each reached the milestone. The complete SMSU career scoring list is located on page 4.
