MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University wheelchair basketball team begins the 2012-13 season this Friday and Saturday hosting four games at the PE Gym and R/A Facility.
The Mustangs, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Lew Shaver, open play on Friday at 6 p.m. versus the University of Illinois men's team. SMSU will then take on the Illinois women's team starting at 8 p.m. Both games will be played in the PE Gym.
SMSU will then conclude the weekend on Saturday morning facing the Illinois men's team at 9:30 and the women's team at 11:15, with both games played in the R/A Facility.
SMSU finished the 2011-12 season 8-14 overall, including a sixth-place finish at the National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament in Champaign, Ill.
