MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team dropped its twelfth straight game to Minnesota State, Mankato on Friday night, as the Mustangs lost 86-56.
SMSU shot 40.4 (21-52) percent from the field in the game but committed 22 turnovers in the contest.
Rebekah Rolling had a career-high 17 points to lead the Mustangs in the loss.
Alison Nagel contributed with 13 to round out SMSU's double-figure scorers.
The Mavericks boasted five players reach double-digit scoring and were led by Karlee Gengenbacher's game-high 22 points. Minnesota State shot 47.7 percent as a unit (31-65).
Minnesota State pulled away in the second half as the Mavericks outscored the Mustangs in the second half, 50-27.
SMSU (1-8, 0-4 NSIC) continues action on Saturday night hosting Concordia-St. Paul at 5 p.m.
