SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – No. 7 Augustana remained undefeated, using a big first half run, to earn a 79-44 victory over Southwest Minnesota State on Friday night in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's basketball.
Augustana (6-0, 2-0 NSIC) had four players score in double figures with Shaunteva Ashley and Riley Nordgaard each scoring 15 points, while Nordgaard recorded a game-high 11 rebounds.
SMSU (1-6, 0-2 NSIC) shot just 29 percent (19 of 65) from the field, including 1 of 15 from 3-point range.
Alison Nagel led the Mustangs with 16 points and six rebounds.

Mikayla Saathoff each chipped in with six points apiece for SMSU with Saathoff grabbing a career-high six rebounds
SMSU committed 27 turnovers in the game with Augie holding a 35-6 advantage in points off of turnovers.
The teams played a tight opening 11 minutes with Augie holding a 17-16 lead with nine minutes remaining following a layup by SMSU's Bree Hollemann.
The Vikings answered though with the decisive run, a 19-0 stretch over the next 5:51, to put the game out of reach and build a 39-18 halftime advantage. Nagel ended the run with a field goal at the 1:29 mark of the half.
SMSU shot just 25 percent in the opening half and committed 13 turnovers.
SMSU has now lost seven straight to Augustana in Sioux Falls, with SMSU's last victory coming during the 2001-02 season.
Southwest Minnesota State continues its road trip tomorrow night taking on No. 15 Wayne State (4-1, 1-1 NSIC) with tip-off slated for 4 p.m.
