MARSHALL, Minn. - Despite going scoreless for the last 5:43, the Southwest Minnesota State wheelchair basketball team hung on for a 42-41 lead over the Minnesota Rollin' Timberwolves on Sunday morning.
Savoy Brown led the way for the Mustangs, as the junior notched a double-double in the win by scoring 13 points and sntaching 11 rebounds.
The Mustang defense came up big in the waning minutes of the game as SMSU turned over the Timberwolves with eight seconds left to secure its weekend sweep. SMSU held the Timberwolves scoreless in the last 5:43.
The Mustangs defeated the Timberwolves 41-36 in game one and 41-32 in game two on Saturday night.
SMSU (11-9) will continue action next weekend in Columbia, Mo. with games versus the University of Texas-Arlington and the University of Illinois.
