SMSU wheelchair team drops four games in Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Southwest Minnesota State wheelchair basketball team lost four games this past weekend at the University of Missouri.

SMSU (0-8) lost to UT-Arlington (93-23), Illinois (69-50), Missouri (73-38) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (78-49).

In the loss to UTA, David Nelson led the Mustangs with nine points with David Evjen added eight points. Nelson had a big game versus Illinois with a team-high 21 points, while in the setback to Missouri, Nelson poured in 18 points, while Derek Klinkner chipped in with 13 points.

In the final game of the weekend, Nelson once again had a big game with 21 points, while Klinkner pulled down 11 rebounds.

SMSU continues play this weekend with four games in Lincoln, Neb.
