Bemidji State closes out Mustangs 57-52

BOX SCORE

BEMIDJI, Minn. -
The Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball team fell to Bemidji State 57-52 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Friday night.

The Mustangs were led by Rebekah Rolling's 18 points, her second highest output of the season.

The loss was the third straight for the Mustangs on the road versus Bemidji State dating back to the 2010-11 season.

The Mustangs shot just 30 percent (10 of 33) and committed six turnovers in a sloppy first half. The Mustangs forced 12 Beaver turnovers but could only convert them into 11 points. Bree Holleman hit a jumper from the elbow as the first half expired to put the score at 32-22 after the first 20 minutes.

The Mustangs cut the Bemidji State 14-point second half lead to just one with 5:16 remaining following a 3-pointer from Mikayla Saathoff. The one point deficit would be the closest the Mustangs would get to catching the Beavers as BSU responded minutes later with a Morgan Lee layup. The Beavers closed out the Mustangs in the final three minutes by only allowing two points in the final 3:45.
