WICHITA, Kan. - The Southwest Minnesota State wheelchair basketball closed its weekend tournament in Kansas with a 61-30 loss to Texas-Arlington on Saturday morning. SMSU split its two games on Friday.
In the loss to UTA, SMSU (9-14) senior
Derek Klinkner led SMSU with 11 points.
SMSU split a pair of games on Friday, defeating Edinboro (Pa.) 51-48 in overtime, before losing to Alabama 53-37.
In the win over Edinboro,
David Nelson scored a team-high 23 points, while
Derek Klinkner added 13 points. In the setback to Alabama,
David Evjen led the Mustangs with 12 points, while Klinkner chipped in with 11.
SMSU (9-13) returns home next Saturday to battle the Sioux Falls Wheelers.
