>Box Score MARSHALL, Minn. — Southwest Minnesota State soccer team earned its third shutout of the season as it defeated Minnesota Crookston, 2-0 at the Schwan Regional Event center.
Southwest Minnesota State (7-4-1, 6-2-1 NSIC) tallied 15 shots with seven being on goal. Minnesota Crookston (5-4-3, 4-3-2 NSIC) recorded just one shot in the match and none on goal.
Miranda Cadena started the scoring for the Mustangs in the 37th minute from an assist from
Kendahl Fisher for her 11th goal of the season. Fisher is only two assists away from breaking the school record.
In the 64th minute, Fisher found the back of the net from a throw-in from
Lizzy Bruder to help the Mustangs go up 2-0.
Minnesota Crookston failed to score in the match as
Denae Brooks earned her second win of the season and is 2-0-1.
Southwest Minnesota State will head to Upper Iowa and Winona State next weekend for a pair of NSIC games. Kickoff is set to start at 2:30 p.m. at Upper Iowa and 1 p.m. at Winona State.
