SMSU drops road game to Upper Iowa

FAYETTE, Iowa —Southwest Minnesota State soccer team couldn't find the back of the net as it was shutout by Upper Iowa, 2-0 at Pattison Field Saturday afternoon.

 Southwest Minnesota State (7-5-1, 6-3-1 NSIC) recorded 16 shots in the match with eight on goal. Upper Iowa (8-4, 8-2 NSIC) shot 20 and seven on goal.
 
Kali Leoscher scored first in the 9th minute to give UIU the early lead.

After intermission, Amiee Wronski found the back the net for Upper in the 48th minute to put the Peacocks up, 2-0.

Miranda Cadena lead the Mustangs with four shots in the match, three being on goal. Autumn Hayes added three shots in the match.
Brienna Dehkes record five saves in goal in the matchup.

Southwest Minnesota State will continue play tomorrow afternoon at Winona State (12-1, 9-1 NSIC). Kick is set to start at 1 p.m.
