ARLINGTON, Texas - The Southwest Minnesota State wheelchair basketball team dropped a 69-33 decision to the University of Alabama in the opening round of the NWBT Championships on Thursday.

SMSU (14-16) will now play Edinboro (Pa.) on Friday morning starting at 11 in the consolation round.

Derek Klinkner led the Mustangs with 13 points, while David Nelson added nine points.
