BISMARCK, N.D. — Miranda Cadena and
Kylie Redmond found the back of the net to propel Southwest Minnesota State over University of Mary, 2-0 Sunday afternoon.
Miranda Cadena started the scoring for SMSU as the junior scored her sixth goal of the year in the 30th minute to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
In the 89th minute,
Kylie Redmond sealed the game with her second goal of the season from an assist from
Lizzy Bruder.
Brienna Dehkes recorded eight saves in the match and also earned her second shutout of the season.
Southwest Minnesota State (4-4, 3-2 NSIC) fired 18 shots, 12 of them being on goal. U-Mary (2-3-3, 1-2-2 NSIC) totaled 11 shots while only eight on goal.
Southwest Minnesota State will continue their road trip next weekend as they travel to St. Cloud, Minn., to play St. Cloud State. Kickoff set to be a 1 p.m. from Husky Stadium.
