THIS WEEKEND - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team (2-16, 2-12 NSIC) will continue Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play as it plays host to St. Cloud State (11-7, 7-7 NSIC) on Friday at 6 p.m. before playing Minnesota Duluth (9-9, 7-7 NSIC) on Saturday with a 5 p.m. tip off.
RADIO - The games this weekend will be broadcast on 105.1 FM KARL with Ryan Rohlik handling play-by-play and Anthony Rohlik serving as analyst.
ABOUT ST. CLOUD STATE - The Huskies, picked to finish third in the NSIC North and 10th overall, will enter the weekend with a 11-7 record, including 7-7 in the NSIC. Last weekend SCSU split games on the road as it defeated U-Mary before suffering a loss to Minot State. Lexy Peterman leads the Husky offense with 15.3 ppg and 7.5 rpg while also shooting 49 percent from the field and 40 percent from behind the arc. Chelsea Nooker also makes her mark with 11.5 ppg while leading the team in blocks with eight and 36 steals this season. Lori Fish is in her 6th season as head coach at St. Cloud State.
ABOUT MINNESOTA DULUTH - The Bulldogs, picked to finish fifth in the NSIC North and eight overall, will enter the weekend with a 9-9 overall record and 7-7 in the NSIC. UMD split games last weekend as it took down Minot State before losing to U-Mary Saturday. Minnesota Duluth will play Sioux Falls on Friday night before playing SMSU on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs are led by Taylor Meyer who tops the NSIC charts with 18.8 ppg while grabbing a team-high 8.9 rpg and is shooting 42 percent from the floor. Jessica Newman contributes 13.4 ppg while Danielle Flood averages 12.5 ppg. Annette Wiles is in her 6th season as head coach at Minnesota Duluth.
HEAD COACH ALLISON KRUGER -
Allison Kruger is in her fifth season as head coach at Southwest Minnesota State University and has compiled a record of 23-103, including 17-85 in NSIC play. Prior to SMSU, Kruger spent two seasons as assistant coach at NCAA Division I University of South Dakota and four years at Wayne State.Â
