Box ScoreMARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team tied with Winona State 0-0 after a defensive battle on Sunday afternoon at the Schwan Regional Event Center.
Both defenses fought hard as neither team could find the back of the net. 
Emily Huddleston led the Mustangs with three shots-two being on goal, while 
Kendahl Fisher, 
Macy Violett and 
Sarah Keppler all recorded a shot on goal.
Brienna Dehkes grabbed the tie as she started in goal and faced three shots while tallying a save in the first 45 minutes. 
Kristy Leopold played the last 65 minutes in goal and racked up four saves as she saw 10 Warrior shots. Leopold also saw the majority of Winona State's corner kicks as the Warriors tallied six in the final 65 minutes.
The tie marks the third time SMSU has tied with WSU and the second time at the Schwan Regional Event Center.
Southwest Minnesota State will travel to MSU Moorhead and Northern State next weekend for a pair of NSIC matches. Both matches are set to start at 1 p.m.
