Box Score WINONA, Minn. — The No. 5 Southwest Minnesota State volleyball team finished the weekend undefeated as it took down No. 25 Winona State 3-1 by scores of 19-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-19.
Taylor Reiss lead the Mustangs that finished hitting .234 in the match with 16 kills while swinging .308.
Sarah Parker and
Abbey Thissen added nine kills apiece, while
Kenzie Beekman floored seven kills.
Megan Larson dished out 44 assists in the match.
The Mustang defense controlled the net as they held the Warriors to a .109 hitting percentage and also put up 12 blocks for their second consecutive match with double-digit blocks.
Eisha Oden led the defense with six total blocks, while Reiss and Parker added five.
Kaylee Burmeister tallied 14 digs, while
Whitney Burmeister recorded 12.
SMSU moves to 12-3 overall and 5-2 the NSIC as it returns to the PE Gym next weekend and welcomes No. 1 Minnesota Duluth on Friday and St. Cloud State on Saturday.
