MINOT, N.D. - The No. 4 Southwest Minnesota State volleyball team cruised past Minot State, 3-0 on Friday night by scores of 25-19, 25-13, 25-12.
SMSU improves to 20-3 overall and 13-2 in the NSIC while MISU falls to 3-19 overall and 0-15 in the conference. The win was SMSU's 11th straight of the season and it's fifth straight over the Beavers.
The Mustangs finished hitting .265 in the match with
Taylor Reiss leading with 12 kills while hitting a career-high .706.
Abbey Thissen and
Claire Sames added nine kills while hitting .190 and .292, respectfully.
Megan Larson paced the offense with 37 assits.
The Mustang defense dominated the net as they held the Beavers to a .055 mark, which is the 16th time SMSU has held it's opponent under a .200 hitting percentage.
Whitney Burmeister grabbed 17 digs in the sweep, as
Kenzie Beekman tallied nine. SMSU recorded five blocks led by Reiss with three, while Sames and Larson contributed a pair of rejections each.
Southwest Minnesota State will continue on the road and face U-Mary tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
