Mustangs capitalize in second half to defeat Tommies in exhibition game

ST. PAUL –
The Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball team, outscored St. Thomas 35-23 in the second half to defeat the Tommies, 65-59 in an exhibition game on Tuesday night.

SMSU was led by Annessa Rosch with 16 points while hitting 5 of 9 from the floor and 5 of 7 from the charity stripe. Lauren Hedlund added 12 points on 6 of 19 shooting from the floor and grabbed 11 boards to record her first double-double of the season. Sarah Buysse contributed 11 points while dishing out a team-high four assists.

Hope Bonlander added to the defense as she recorded six boards in the contest while adding nine points.

Southwest Minnesota State will host its final exhibition game on Nov. 9, against Minnesota – Morris at 6 p.m.
