THIS WEEKEND - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team (3-21, 3-17 NSIC) will look to conclude its regular season on a high note as it hosts Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State this weekend. The Mustangs will play the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears (14-12, 10-10 NSIC) on Friday with a 6 p.m. tip off. SMSU will face the Minnesota State Mavericks (18-7, 15-5 NSIC) at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs will also recognize its three seniors following the game.
   SMSU begins the weekend eighth in the NSIC South Division standings and 16th overall. Concordia-St. Paul is sixth in the NSIC South Division and sits 10th overall. MSU is second in the South Division standings and second overall.
RADIO - The games this weekend will be broadcast on 105.1 FM KARL with Ryan Rohlik handling play-by-play and Anthony Rohlik serving as analyst.
SENIOR NIGHT FOR SMSU - SMSU will honor three seniors on Saturday night following the game versus Minnesota State. Forward Ellen Degler has appeared in 92 career games with 20 starts. She has scored 625 points and grabbed 372 rebounds. She was also a four-year letterwinner in volleyball. Center Emilee Duske has played in 81 career games with 25 starts, scoring 273 points and pulling down 231 rebounds. Guard Whitney Miller has played in 51 career games with 15 starts and has scored 155 points with 75 rebounds.ABOUT CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL - The Golden Bears, picked to finish second in the NSIC South and first overall, will enter the weekend with a 14-12 overall record and 10-10 in the NSIC. CU suffered a pair of losses last weekend at home to Upper Iowa and Winona State. The Golden Bears are led by Anika Whiting who averages 16.5 ppg (scored 16 points vs SMSU earlier this season) while shooting 46.7 from the floor and Ameshia Kearney who averages 12.8 ppg and shoots 40 percent from behind the arc. Whiting also controls boards as she averages 7.4 rpg. Kionda Nicks makes her mark as she has recorded 64 blocks this season which leads the NSIC. Paul Fessler is in his 15th season as head coach at Concordia-St. Paul.
 CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL SERIES HISTORY - Southwest Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul will meet for the 48th time on Friday with CU holding a 31-16 advantage in a series that started back in the 1974-75 season. The Golden Bears hold an 11-8 record all-time in games played in R/A Facility. SMSU suffered an 82-46 loss earlier this season in St. Paul, Minn., and have lost six straight in the series. SMSU's  last win came Dec. 10, 2011 in Marshall.  SMSU head coach

EARLIER THIS SEASON VS CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL - Concordia-St. Paul was too much for Southwest Minnesota State as the Golden Bears shot 56 percent and defeated the Mustangs, 82-46 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate women's basketball. SMSU shot 24 percent from floor for the first time since playing Minot State.
Annessa Rosch was the lone Mustang in double figures with 11 points.
Lauren Hedlund contributed nine points while
Emilee Duske and
Hope Bonlander had eight and seven, respectfully. Bonlander and
Ellen Degler led the Mustangs with six rebounds a piece.Â
ABOUT MINNESOTA STATE - The Mavericks, picked to third in the NSIC South and fourth overall, will enter the weekend with a 18-7 record, including 15-5 in the NSIC. The Mavericks recorded two wins at home last weekend as they defeated Winona State in overtime and dominated Upper Iowa. Minnesota State will play Sioux Falls Friday night before playing SMSU Saturday. Aubrey Davis leads the Mavericks in scoring with 13.7 ppg (scored 20 points vs SMSU earlier this season) while shooting 44.2 percent from 3-point range and also dishes out a team-high 4 assists per game. Sammie Delzotto and Lexie Ulfers makes their mark with their 12 ppg a piece while Ulfers shoots a team-high 51 percent from the floor. Emilee Thiesse is in her second season as head coach at Minnesota State.

HEAD COACH ALLISON KRUGER -
Allison Kruger is in her fifth season as head coach at Southwest Minnesota State University and has compiled a record of 24-108, including 18-90 in NSIC play. Prior to SMSU, Kruger spent two seasons as assistant coach at NCAA Division I University of South Dakota and four years at Wayne State.
