CLERMONT, Fla., - The Southwest Minnesota State softball team suffered a pair of losses as it was defeated 6-0 by Ohio Dominican before a 9-1 loss to The University of St. Thomas on Wednesday at the NTC Softball Facility.
In game one, the Panthers scored in the first inning as they drove in a pair of runs to have a quick 2-0 lead.
ODU tagged on another run in the sixth before scoring the final three runs in the seventh to earn the 6-0 victory.
SMSU was held to just two hits in the game.
Alex O'Connor suffered the loss in the outing, as she pitched three innings and gave up one hit with two runs score while walking three batters. She moves to 5-3 on the season.
Jazmyne Neely and
Karmann Carroll were the lone Mustangs with hits in the loss.
In the final game of the day, SMSU took on The University of Saint Thomas and the Tommies didn't waste any time scoring as they had four runners cross the plate in the bottom of the first inning.

Taylor Koloc with a fielders choice.
UST came back in the third inning with three more runs and followed it with a run in the fourth to lead 8-1 after four innings. St. Thomas kept SMSU off the board and came back in the fifth with a home run to left field to defeated the Mustangs by the run-rule.
Madisson Chadwick picked up her second loss of the season and fell to 2-2 as she gave up four hits with six runs while walking five batters.
Taylor Koloc led the Mustangs going 2 for 2 with one run scored while
Karmann Carroll went 1 for 2. Bunting earned the lone RBI in the loss.
Southwest Minnesota State will play Northwood (Mich.) tomorrow at 2 p.m. (CDT) before playing California (Penn.) at 4 p.m. (CDT)
