MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State wheelchair basketball team capped off a perfect weekend on Saturday with a 61-41 victory over the University of Illinois on Saturday afternoon at the SMSU Tournament played in the R/A Facility.
SMSU, which finished the tournament with a 4-0 record, improves to 6-0 on the season.
David Evjen had a huge game for the Mustangs, pouring in a team-high 23 points on 10 of 18 shooting, while grabbing 22 rebounds and dishing out eight assists.
Jon Herdon added 18 points and connected on a pair of 3-pointers for the Mustangs, while teammate
Walter Johnson also reached double figure scoring 14 points on 6 of 8 shooting.
