MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State wheelchair basketball team picked up a pair of victories on Saturday at the PE Gym, sweeping the Rolling Timberwolves by scores of 68-56 and 64-53.
In the game one win,
Walter Johnson poured in a team-high 25 points, while teammate Jon Herdon added 24 points.
David Evjen added 13 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists for a triple-double. Johnson also recorded a double-double with 18 rebounds to go along with his 25 points.
SMSU shot 47 percent from the field and made 7 of 12 free throws.
In game two, the Mustangs shot 56 percent from the field, but struggled from the free throw line, making just 4 of 17 attempts.
Evjen made 12 of 17 shots and finished with 27 points and 15 rebounds. Johnson chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds.
SMSU, 17-7 overall, will next be in action on Feb. 17-18 with three games in Champaign, Ill.
