BISMARCK, N.D.- Southwest Minnesota State conceded three goals in the first 25 minutes on the road at the University of Mary which proved to be the difference in a 3-0 win for U-Mary on Saturday at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.
SMSU was outshot 17-5 in the game as U-Mary led 8-3 in shots on goal over the 90 minute contest.
The Mustangs struggled creating chances in the loss as they failed to find the net for a fifth time this season.
Jenna Meyer made her second straight start as the Mustangs' keeper and finished the game with five saves.
After scoring a goal with one assist against UMC last weekend, Megan Lowery, put up two more goals and added another assist against SMSU.
The Mustangs defeated U-Mary 5-1 in last season's matchup but now hold a 4-12 all-time record against the Marauders after Saturday's loss. SMSUÂ is just 1-5 all-time in road matches at U-Mary.
The Mustangs will have a quick turnaround as they travel to play at Minot State tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.
