•The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball (0-2) opens its home season this Friday and Saturday hosting the Ramada Classic at the R/A Facility.
•SMSU will take on Wisconsin-Parkside (1-1) on Friday with tip-off slated for 6 p.m. and will the close the weekend on Saturday facing William Jewell (Mo.) starting at 4 p.m.
•Two other games will also be hosted in the R/A Facility this weekend. William Jewell and Black Hills State (S.D) play on Friday at 4 p.m., while Wisconsin-Parkside and Black Hills State will meet at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

RODNING: NSIC "PLAYER TO WATCH"
•Junior forward,
Caleigh Rodning, was named an NSIC "Player to Watch" entering into the 2018-19 season.
•Rodning appeared in 51 games with 38 starts in her two-year career.
•She shot 58% from the free throw line last season, ranking third in team history. She ranks fourth in team history with 82.5% free throw percentage.
•She averages 7.6 rebounds per game, to rank sixth in team history.
•All-NSIC in 2017-18, led the team in scoring (12.8) and rebounding (7.5).
•Season-high 26 points against Bemidji State on Jan. 13, 2016.
•Led the first two matches of the 2018-19 season with 41 points in first two contests.
SCOUTING WISCONSIN-PARKSIDE
•The Rangers are 1-1 this season after competing in the Crossover Tournament in Ohio where they opened the season with a 61-57 victory over Malone.
•Alli Bellencourt led the team in points with 15 against Malone and in the 81-75 loss to Walsh, she led the team with 22 points.
•Wisconsin-Parkside was picked to finish fourth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) North Division.
•Bettencourt was voted to the Preseason All-Conference Team in the North Division.
•Parkside is in its first year in a new conference, the GLIAC.
•Last season the Rangers finished 9-21 overall.
•The Rangers return 12 players, seven of those being seniors and one graduate student including three who redshirted last season.
•Bettencourt leads the Rangers playing all 29 games last season with 28 starts.
•She led the team in points, averaging 14.8 points per game and shot 91 percent from the free throw line (107 of 117).
•Jen Conely is in her first season as head coach. She was an assistant coach at Walsh University last season and also spent eight seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Indianapolis.

•In the 2017-18 season, SMSU came within one points shy of victories five times.
•SMSU fell short to Wayne State on Dec. 2, 2017, with a final score of 68-66.
•Mustangs dropped one to Minnesota Crookston on Jan. 12 with a final score of 65-61.

Jenna Borchers is a 2018 graduate of Dallas Center-Grimes where she was a four-year letter winner and all-conference recipient. She was named second team all-state, all-district, and all-region in her four-year tenure under coach Adam Jones.
•Freshman guard, Oliva Drummer, from St. Clair, Minn. scored more than 1,000 points and was a three-time all-conference recipient.
