•The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team (4-6, 1-4 NSIC) continues NSIC play on Sunday, Dec. 30, taking on the University of Sioux Falls (8-3, 3-2 NSIC) at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., with tip-off set for 2 p.m.
•SMSU will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak and also avenge an earlier loss this season to USF on Dec. 1 in Marshall.

SCOUTING SIOUX FALLS
•USF is 8-3 overall, 3-2 NSIC. The Cougars have lost their last two NSIC games, but snapped a two-game losing streak with a 94-40 non-conference win over Dakota State on Dec. 18.
•USF was picked to win the NSIC in the preseason poll.
•Kaely Hummel leads the team in scoring at 15.6 ppg and has made a team-best 27 3-pointers.
•Mariah Szymanski is averaging 8.4 ppg with 12 3-pointers.
•Hannah Jones leads the team with 5.9 rpg and also has dished out a team-high 33 assists. She was injured in the win over DSU on Dec. 18.
•USF is shooting 41 percent from the field, 33 percent from the 3-point range, 76 percent from the free throw line and is plus-2.9 in rebound margin.
•USF is averaging 74 points per game, while opponents are averaging 55 points per game.
SERIES HISTORY VS. SIOUX FALLS
•The series, which is tied 16-16, began during the 1969-70 season.

SMSU SETS TEAM-RECORD 19 3-POINTERS
•In SMSU's victory over William Jewell (Mo.) on Nov. 17, the Mustangs set a single-game record of 19 3-pointers made and also a school record for most three-point attempts (34) in a game.
•The previous record was 15 made against Minnesota-Morris on Dec. 19, 2008.
•SMSU made 11 3-pointers in the first half, eight of which came in the second quarter.
THREE CONSECUTIVE WINS
•SMSU's three-game winning streak earlier this season was the program's first since the 2011-12 season.
•SMSU earned its first back-to-back wins since the 2015-16 season after defeating Wisconsin-Parkside and William Jewell (Mo.) at the Ramada Classic on Nov. 16-17.
•SMSU's last four-game winning streak came during the 2009-10 season when the team won six straight.
90-POINT GAMES
•The Mustangs scored 90 of more points in three straight victories earlier this season.
•The last time SMSU scored 90 or more points in three consecutive games was in November 2008 with a 111-75 victory over Chadron State (Neb.), 107-45 victory over Mayville State (ND), and a 93-75 victory over Mount Mercy (Iowa).
RODNING EARNS NSIC WEEKLY AWARD
•Junior forward
Caleigh Rodning was named the NSIC South Division Player of the Week on Nov. 19.
•This is the first time Rodning has received this award and
the first Mustang to earn the award under head coach,
Tom Webb.
•In the two victories, Rodning recorded back-to-back double-doubles with 34 points and 16 rebounds against Wisconsin-Parkside, followed by 17 points and 10 rebounds against William Jewell.
•Rodning shot 59 percent from the field (16 of 27), 67 percent from beyond the arc (6 of 9), and went 13-15 from the free throw line throughout the weekend.
