Mustangs advance to fifth place game with win over Illinois

MARSHALL, Minn. --
Jesus Villa poured in 16 points, dished out 13 assists and grabbed nine rebounds to help Southwest Minnesota State earn a 61-55 victory over the University of Illinois in the consolation round of the National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament at the R/A Facility.

SMSU will face Edinboro later tonight 6 p.m. in the fifth place game.

Matthew Talbot scored a team-high 22 points for the Mustangs, making 10 of 16 field goals, while also grabbing six rebounds. Ryan Kile came off the bench to make 7 of 10 shots and finished with 15 points.

SMSU shot 49 percent in the game and held Illinois to 42 percent shooting.
