MARSHALL, Minn. -- The Southwest Minnesota State wheelchair basketball team had its season come to an end on Friday night with a 62-47 loss to Edinboro University (Pa.) in the fifth place game of the National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament at the R/A Facility.
SMSU ends its season with a record of 10-16.
The Mustangs shot just 34 percent in the game, including 1 of 9 from 3-point range.
Jesus Villa paced the squad with 24 points, six steals, nine rebounds and five assists.
Matthew Talbot added eight points, while
Steve Eischens,
Jon Fagre and
Ryan Kile chipped in with four points each.
Talbot and Fagre both were named to the NWBA All-Rookie team for their accomplishments during the 2017-18 season.
