ST. PAUL, Minn. ā The Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball team fell 86-65 to a strong offense from Concordia-St. Paul on Friday night at the Gangelhoff Center.Ā

SMSU (6-8, 3-6 NSIC) shot 32 percent from the field, 35 from the three-point line, and 73 percent from the free-throw line, while CSP (10-4, 6-3 NSIC) shot 51 from the field, 58 percent from beyond the arc, and 65 percent from the free throw line.

Sadie Stelter led the Mustangs with 14 points, followed by 
Meleah Reinhart with 13, and 
Caleigh Rodning with 12.

The Golden Bears had five players in double-digits led by Sidney Wentland with 22 points, Anna Schmitt with 16, Lindsay Dorr with 14, Lexi Lee with 11, and Kyrah Fredenburg with 10. Dorr recorded a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

The Mustangs trailed either on in the first quarter before 
Erin Baxter scored a layup to earn a 16-15 lead before the Golden Bears closed out the first quarter with a 7-1 run to gain a 22-17 lead.Ā The Golden Bears gained the large lead through their 42 points created in the paint over the Mustangs' 28.

CSP restricted SMSU from earning another lead as they capitalized on the lead scoring a game-high 30 points in the third quarter.
