•The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team (7-8, 4-6) hosts Minot State on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the R/A Facility to kick off its weekend homestand. 
•SMSU then faces UMary on Saturday at 4 p.m. 

    SMSU QUICK HITS
•Saturday's victory over Minnesota State marks the seventh victory for SMSU this season. It's the first time SMSU has earned seven victories in a season since the 2010-11 season. 
•SMSU swept Minnesota State for the first time in team history's conference play. 
•The last time SMSU defeated Minnesota State twice in a season was in the 1978-79 season. 
•SMSU scored 15 3-pointers in the victory over MSU. Jenna Borchers and Sarah Buysse each added four 3-pointers.
•Meleah Reinhart scored her second 20-point game of the season with 22 against MSU. 
•Reinhart also added a career-high five assists and six steals against MSU.  
•The last time the Mustangs' won eight games in a season was in the 2009-10 season when they earned 15.

    SERIES HISTORY VS. MINOT STATE
•Minot State leads the all-time series 5-3 since the first meeting on Nov. 17, 2011. 
•Minot State has won the last two meetings with the last meeting a 66-48 Beaver victory in Marshall on Feb. 2, 2018. 
•The Mustangs' longest winning streak was two games in 2015 and 2017.
•The Mustangs' last victory over Minot State was in Coach Webb's first season at SMSU.

    SERIES HISTORY VS. UMARY
•UMary leads the all-time series 11-4 with the first meeting on Feb. 21, 2018 in Marshall. 
•SMSU broke a six-game losing streak to UMary a season ago with a 73-58 victory on Feb. 3, 2018 in Marshall, Minn. 
•SMSU's last winning streak was two games in 2009 and 2011. 
•Before SMSU's victory last season, the last three games went into overtime, one being double-overtime.

    ABOUT SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA STATE 
•Junior forward Caleigh Rodning is averaging a team-high 14.3 ppg and a team-high 7.5 rpg.
•Sophomore guard Sadie Stelter surpassed Rodning this past weekend to record a team-high 24 3-pointers after scoring four. 
•Sophomore guard Meleah Reinhart is averaging 11.2 ppg and has made 21 3-pointers. 
•Reinhart recorded her second 20-point game this season with 20 versus MSU. She also earned a career-high five assists and six steals. 
•Sadie Stelter is averaging 10.7 ppg and leads the team in steals with 21.
•Sophomore guard Erin Baxter is averaging 9.1 ppg.
•SMSU is shooting 39 percent from the field, 32 percent from the 3-point line, 76 percent from the free throw line and is minus-3.0 rebound margin.

    SMSU HEAD COACH TOM WEBB
•Tom Webb is in his third season as head coach with a 15-53 record, including 11-43 in NSIC play. 
•SMSU finished 3-24 during his first season in 2016-17, before improving to 5-21 in 2017-18. 
•Webb is 106-176 overall in his 11th season as head coach at the Division II level after compiling a record of 91-123 in nine seasons as head coach at Cameron University (Okla.) 
•Webb recorded his 100th career win against Wisconsin-Parkside (91-83) on Nov. 16, 2018.

    SMSU SETS TEAM-RECORD 19 3-POINTERS 
•In SMSU's victory over William Jewell (Mo.) on Nov. 17,  the Mustangs set a single-game record of 19 3-pointers made and also a school record for most three-point attempts (34) in a game. 
•The previous record was 15 made against Minnesota-Morris on Dec. 19, 2008.
•SMSU made 11 3-pointers in the first half, eight of which came in the second quarter. 
 
    THREE CONSECUTIVE WINS
•SMSU's three-game winning streak earlier this season was the program's first since the 2011-12 season. 
•SMSU earned its first back-to-back wins since the 2015-16 season after defeating Wisconsin-Parkside and William Jewell (Mo.) at the Ramada Classic on Nov. 16-17.
•SMSU's last four-game winning streak came during the 2009-10 season when the team won six straight.  

    SEVEN SEASON VICTORIES
•Saturday's victory over MSU marked the seventh victory this season for the Mustangs, the first time SMSU earned seven victories since the 2010-11 season. 

    90-POINT GAMES
•The Mustangs scored 90 of more points in three straight victories earlier this season.
•The last time SMSU scored 90 or more points in three consecutive games was in November 2008 with a 111-75 victory over Chadron State (Neb.), 107-45 victory over Mayville State (ND), and a 93-75 victory over Mount Mercy (Iowa).

    SCOUTING MINOT STATE    
•Minot State is 6-10 overall and 1-9 in NSIC play and comes in second to last in the North Division of the NSIC.
•Minot was picked to finish 14th in the NSIC overall preseason coaches' poll and seventh in the North division. 
•Minot State went 0-2 last weekend to advance its losing streak to three games. 
•Madison Wald scored 16 points in Minot's 67-60 loss to St. Cloud State. Wald ranks fifth in the conference in 3-point percentage.
•Wald leads the team in rebounding with 4.6 rpg. 
•Kari Clements ties Wald to lead the team in scoring with 13.8 ppg and rebounds with 10.1. 
•Mariah Payne leads the team in assists with 4.1 apg.  
•Minot is shooting 43 percent from the field and 34 percent from the 3-point line.
•Minot State is recording a minus-1.2 rebounding margin.
•Head coach, Mark Graupe, is in his second season and holds a 20-23 overall record 12-20 record in the Northern Sun. Graupe is the fifth head coach in the program's 45-year history.  

    SCOUTING UMARY    
•UMary is 9-4 overall and 7-3 in the NSIC.
•The Marauders were chosen to finish sixth overall and third in the North. 
•UMary is in a two game losing streak after dropping both games this past weekend against Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.  
•Junior Gabby Bohl was chosen as the North Division's Preseason Player of the Year. 
•Bohl leds the conference in scoring with a 19.9 avg. in conference games and leads her team in scoring with 20.1 ppg.
•Bohl scored over 20-points in both games this past weekend with 26 against UMD and a double-double 28 points and 11 rebounds against SCSU. 
•Cassie Askvig leads the team in rebounding with 9.5 rpg.
•Macy Williams has recorded 40 assists this season with 3.1 apg.  
•UMary is shooting 46 percent from the field, 37 percent from the 3-point range, 73 percent from the free throw line and is  plus-3.8 in rebound margin. 
•UMary is averaging 74.2 points per game, while opponents are averaging 66.1 points per game.
•Head coach, Rick Neumann, is in his seventh season and has compiled a 98-92 overall record and is 70-72 in the NSIC. 

    RODNING EARNS NSIC WEEKLY AWARD
•Junior forward Caleigh Rodning was named the NSIC South Division Player of the Week on Nov. 19. 
•It's the first time Rodning has received this award and is 
the first Mustang to earn the honor under head coach Tom Webb.  
•In two SMSU victories, Rodning recorded back-to-back double-doubles with 34 points and 16 rebounds against Wisconsin-Parkside, followed by 17 points and 10 rebounds against William Jewell.
•Rodning shot 59 percent from the field (16 of 27), 67 percent from beyond the arc (6 of 9), and went 13-15 from the free throw line throughout the weekend. 

    NCAA STATISTICAL RANKINGS

•Caleigh Rodning ranks 22nd in free throw pct. and 51st in free throws made.

    RODNING ALL-NSIC IN 2017-18
•Caleigh Rodning was the lone Mustang to earn All-NSIC honors last season as she was named second team. 

    SMSU ALL-TIME IN THE NSIC 
•The 2018-19 campaign marks the 40th season SMSU has competed in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. 
•SMSU has an all-time record of 231-375 in conference games and have won four regular season championships (1979-80, 1980-81, 2000-01, 2001-02) and one NSIC Tournament championship (2002).
