•The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team (5-6, 2-4 NSIC) continues NSIC play this weekend with a pair of home games at the R/A Facility.
•On Friday, Jan. 4, SMSU will take on nationally-ranked and NSIC leading Augustana University (14-1, 6-0 NSIC) starting at 5:30 p.m.
•Augustana is ranked No. 13 in this week's D2SIDA Top 25 poll and is ranked No. 22 in the WBCA Top 25 poll.
•SMSU closes the weekend on Saturday, Jan. 5, facing Wayne State College (8-4, 3-3 NSIC) with game time set for 4 p.m.
•SMSU is coming off a 77-61 road victory over the University of Sioux Falls last Sunday afternoon.
•SMSU is looking to snap a seven-game losing streak to Augustana and an 18-game losing streak to Wayne State.
•Both SMSU and Augustana like the 3-point shot this season. AU ranks second in Division II with 145 3-pointer made, while SMSU ranks 35th with 92.

SMSU QUICK HITS
•SMSU's win at Sioux Falls on Sunday snapped an 11-game losing streak to the Cougars dating back to 2013.

Jenna Borchers scored a career-high 13 points with three 3-pointers in the victory.
•SMSU had five players score in double figures in the victory on Sunday. It was the first time since five Mustangs reached double figures in a game since Feb. 12, 2011.

Caleigh Rodning became the ninth player in team history to reach 300 career free throws made during SMSU's win at USF.

SMSU SETS TEAM-RECORD 19 3-POINTERS
•In SMSU's victory over William Jewell (Mo.) on Nov. 17, the Mustangs set a single-game record of 19 3-pointers made and also a school record for most three-point attempts (34) in a game.
•The previous record was 15 made against Minnesota-Morris on Dec. 19, 2008.
•SMSU made 11 3-pointers in the first half, eight of which came in the second quarter.
THREE CONSECUTIVE WINS
•SMSU's three-game winning streak earlier this season was the program's first since the 2011-12 season.
•SMSU earned its first back-to-back wins since the 2015-16 season after defeating Wisconsin-Parkside and William Jewell (Mo.) at the Ramada Classic on Nov. 16-17.
•SMSU's last four-game winning streak came during the 2009-10 season when the team won six straight.
90-POINT GAMES
•The Mustangs scored 90 of more points in three straight victories earlier this season.
•The last time SMSU scored 90 or more points in three consecutive games was in November 2008 with a 111-75 victory over Chadron State (Neb.), 107-45 victory over Mayville State (ND), and a 93-75 victory over Mount Mercy (Iowa).
SCOUTING AUGUSTANA
•Augustana is 14-1 overall and 6-0 in NSIC play following an 88-74 road victory over Wayne State on Sunday.
•Senior center Shelby Selland, who has led the team in scoring six straight games, scored 20 points and had 11 rebounds in the win.
•Selland leads the team in scoring at 16 ppg and is the team leader with 9.4 rpg. She also has a team-high 26 3-pointers.
•Senior guard Lynsey Prosser is averaging 12.6 ppg with 25 3-pointers.
•AU is shooting 45 percent from the field, 36 percent from the 3-point range, 73 percent from the free throw line and is plus-6.3 in rebound margin.
•AU is averaging 83 points per game, while opponents are averaging 59 points per game.
•Head coach Dave Krauth is in his 30th season with a record of 620-259. He has led the Vikings to 14 NCAA Tournament appearances.
SCOUTING WAYNE STATE
•WSC is 8-4 overall, 3-3 NSIC, and will play at Sioux Falls on Friday night.
•The Wildcats suffered an 88-74 home loss to Augustana last Sunday afternoon.
•Sophomore forward Erin Norling is one of four Wildcat players to average in double figure scoring with 14.7 ppg and is second on the team with 6.2 rpg.
•Sophomore center Brittany Bongartz and sophomore guard Halley Busse are both averaging 12.7 ppg with Busse connecting on a team-high 23 3-pointers.
•Senior forward Andrea Larson leads the team with 7.1 rpg.

RODNING EARNS NSIC WEEKLY AWARD
•Junior forward
Caleigh Rodning was named the NSIC South Division Player of the Week on Nov. 19.
•It's the first time Rodning has received this award and is
the first Mustang to earn the honor under head coach
Tom Webb.
•In two SMSU victories, Rodning recorded back-to-back double-doubles with 34 points and 16 rebounds against Wisconsin-Parkside, followed by 17 points and 10 rebounds against William Jewell.
•Rodning shot 59 percent from the field (16 of 27), 67 percent from beyond the arc (6 of 9), and went 13-15 from the free throw line throughout the weekend.
