MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball team (5-4, 0-4 NSIC) fell 74-5, in a roller coaster of a game to St. Cloud State (5-3, 2-2 NSIC), with each team making significant comebacks, on Friday night in the R/A Facility.

The Mustangs, who came out tonight in search of the first conference victory of the season, shot 27 percent from the field and 36 percent from the 3-point line, while the Huskies delivered 50 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent from the 3-point line.

The Mustangs were led in scoring by the shared efforts of Erin Baxter and Meleah Reinhart, who each contributed 13 points. Jenna Borchers finished with 12 points while Abuk Akoi lead the team in rebounding with 10.

The Huskies were led in scoring by Katrina Theis, who finished with 21 points on the night and grabbed seven rebounds. SCSU's Nikki Kilboten grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds and added 12 points to the Huskie victory.

The Mustangs earned their largest lead of the night, a seven-point lead, in the third quarter after trailing by just one point heading into halftime. The Mustangs used a 10-point run late in the second to make it the one-point game, trailing 30-29.

The Huskies came out big in the fourth quarter to go on a 16-point scoring run to gain the largest lead of the night, with the efforts of 75 percent shooting from the field to pull ahead and secure the victory.

Southwest Minnesota State will face Minnesota Duluth on Saturday with tip-off slated at 4 p.m. in the R/A Facility.
