PREVIEWING THIS WEEKEND
•The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team (12-13, 9-11 NSIC) travels to Wayne State College (13-13, 8-12 NSIC) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Augustana University (20-9, 12-8 NSIC) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for the final road trip of the regular season. 
•SMSU begins the weekend tied for fifth in the NSIC South Division standings, three games behind Augustana and Winona State for third and fourth place.
•Wayne State enters Friday's game one game behind SMSU in seventh place in the division, while Augustana is tied for third in the division with Winona State.

    SMSU QUICK HITS
•Caleigh Rodning became the 20th Mustang to enter the 1,000-point club on Friday night versus UIU. 
•SMSU's nine home victories this season is its highest total since winning 10 during the 2009-10 season. 
•SMSU split last weekend with a win over Upper Iowa and lost to Winona State in a fourth-quarter rally by WSU.
•SMSU is tied the most conference wins since the 2009-10 team who won nine games with the victory on Friday night.

    SMSU SETS TEAM-RECORD 19 3-POINTERS 
•In SMSU's victory over William Jewell (Mo.) on Nov. 17,  the Mustangs set a single-game record of 19 3-pointers made and also a school record for most three-point attempts (34) in a game. 
•The previous record was 15 made against Minnesota-Morris on Dec. 19, 2008.
•SMSU made 11 3-pointers in the first half, eight of which came in the second quarter. 

     THREE CONSECUTIVE WINS
•SMSU's three-game winning streak earlier this season was the program's first since the 2011-12 season. 
•SMSU earned its first back-to-back wins since the 2015-16 season after defeating Wisconsin-Parkside and William Jewell (Mo.) at the Ramada Classic on Nov. 16-17.
•SMSU earned another three-game winning streak with a Victory over BSU on Feb. 2. 

    TWELVE SEASON VICTORIES
•SMSU has 12 victories this season which is its highest total since the 2009-10 team who won 15 games. 

    90-POINT GAMES
•The Mustangs scored 90 of more points in three straight victories earlier this season.
•The last time SMSU scored 90 or more points in three consecutive games was in November 2008 with a 111-75 victory over Chadron State (Neb.), 107-45 victory over Mayville State (ND), and a 93-75 victory over Mount Mercy (Iowa).

    SCOUTING WAYNE STATE    
•UIU is 13-13 overall and 8-12 in the NSIC.
•The Wildcats are in a six-game losing streak after dropping both games this past weekend against Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State. 
•Erin Norling leads the team in scoring with 15.2 ppg.
•Andrea Larson leads in rebounding with 6.1 rpg. 
•Halley Busse leads the team in assists with 3.7 apg. 
•WSC is shooting 39 percent from the field, 32 percent from the 3-point range, 71 percent from the free throw line and is  maintaining a minus-2.3 rebounding margin. 
•WSC is averaging 69.4 points per game, while opponents are averaging 69.6 points per game.
•Head coach, Brent Pollari, is in his first season with Wayne State. He is the 11th coach in school history after coaching st St. Mary's University in Winona where he compiled a 50-29 record. 

    SCOUTING AUGUSTANA    
•Augustana is 20-9 overall and 12-8 in NSIC play and comes in third in the South Division of the NSIC, tying with Winona State. 
•SMSU snapped a nine-game winning streak earlier this season with a 74-71 victory in Marshall. 
•Augie has lost four of the last five games. 
•Shelby Selland leads the team in scoring with 13.0 ppg and rebounding with 7.7 rpg. 
•Augie is shooting 41 percent from the field and 33 percent from the 3-point line.
•WSU is recording a plus-0.8  rebounding margin and a plus-11.6 scoring margin. 
•Head coach, Dave Krauth, is in his 30th season and holds a 626-267 overall record 361-197 record in the NSIC. 

    RODNING EARNS NSIC WEEKLY AWARD
•Junior forward Caleigh Rodning was named the NSIC South Division Player of the Week on Nov. 19. 
•It's the first time Rodning has received this award and is 
the first Mustang to earn the honor under head coach Tom Webb.  
•In two SMSU victories, Rodning recorded back-to-back double-doubles with 34 points and 16 rebounds against Wisconsin-Parkside, followed by 17 points and 10 rebounds against William Jewell.
•Rodning shot 59 percent from the field (16 of 27), 67 percent from beyond the arc (6 of 9), and went 13-15 from the free throw line throughout the weekend.

    RODNING ALL-NSIC IN 2017-18
•Caleigh Rodning was the lone Mustang to earn All-NSIC honors last season as she was named second team. 

    SMSU ALL-TIME IN THE NSIC 
•The 2018-19 campaign marks the 40th season SMSU has competed in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. 
•SMSU has an all-time record of 238-382 in conference games and have won four regular season championships (1979-80, 1980-81, 2000-01, 2001-02) and one NSIC Tournament championship (2002).
